IMCD’s Global Topical Center of Excellence and Signet Host First Derma School at Mumbai PTC Lab

IMCD’s Global Topical Center of Excellence and Signet, successfully hosted the inaugural edition of Derma School on 26 June, bringing together formulation scientists and industry professionals for an engaging and knowledge-driven learning experience focused on dermatological product development.

A keynote address by Ms. Hemalatha Guntur, Vice President – PDR, Macleods Pharmaceuticals, offered valuable perspectives on the end-to-end development of topical pharmaceutical products, from laboratory-scale formulation to commercial manufacturing. Her session covered formulation and scale-up challenges, technology transfer considerations, regulatory expectations, and practical approaches to overcoming common development hurdles.

The program further enriched participants’ understanding through discussions on formulation development strategies and topical product innovation. A major highlight was the live demonstration of advanced delivery systems, including microemulgels and Self-Nano Emulsifying Drug Delivery Systems (SNEDDs), showcasing novel approaches to improving formulation performance and patient-centric outcomes.
