From Science to Solutions: A Two-Day Journey in Controlled Release Formulation!

IMCD’s Pharma Technical Centre successfully concluded its inaugural Controlled Release School on 12th & 13th August 2026, bringing together formulation professionals for two days of focused learning, practical demonstrations, and valuable industry insights. The program covered controlled-release matrix formulations, osmotic drug delivery, and pellet coating technologies, blending scientific concepts with hands-on application.

A key highlight was the industry-led sessions by Dr. Amit Gupta, Assistant Vice President - Macleods Pharmaceuticals, on 505(b)(2) opportunities, and Mr. Sanjay Motipwar, VP & Global Head MSAT Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, who shared real-world perspectives on troubleshooting of extended-release formulations, from identifying root causes to optimizing coating processes.

With a strong balance of science, practical learning, and industry experience, the two-day program highlighted how deeper technical understanding and the right formulation strategies can transform challenges into robust, patient-centric solutions.
